I have a new to me 84 70 that will not run much above an idle for very long in gear unless I pump the bulb, then it seems to run fine. Once it dies I can pump the bulb and it will start and run again even though the bulb seems fairly firm. From what i can see this engine has the first generation...
Are the water jacket diverters supposed to go the full length of the cavity they sit in or are they slightly shorter than all the way from the inside of the block to the head?
The person before me replaced the OEM diverters with pieces of 1/4 hose and the bottom 2 were charred but seemed to go...
I just acquired a 88 25 that got hot last fall and quit running. The guy that had it showed it to me after it happened and it seemed like the compression bump was not right. I told him to do a compression check and view the cyl's with a borescope we had at work.
