    1976 ... 65hp Merc Outboard starter problem .....

    I have a 1976 ... 65hp outboard # 50-65436 ... with a new starter that won't start ... you hit the key ... the starter spins , but he gear that comes up and turns the fly wheel spins , but does not spin UP and make contact with the flywheel ....starting the motor .... am I doing something...
