    Is there a difference in these two mercury trim motors?

    I bought this new trim motor (99186t) as a replacement for this 70 3cyl mercury 3 ram side fill trim unit. When I finally got the old one's bottom out I saw it was totally different... Is this the wrong motor or just a supersession? And which way do I put it in, I don't want to put it in backwards

    Starter won't spin

    Ive got the starter for a 25 mercury that will not activate and spin. I just shined up the armature the brushes are nice big and clean there's no solenoid it's attached straight to the battery and does not spin over.
