    BF20D still struggles to start.

Good advice to keep the old one and all the parts and good job figuring it out and posting the solution here. I worked on a friends 9.9 Yamaha 2 stroke, needed some small carb parts, found a carb on Amazon for $17. I didn’t bother using the new Chinese carb, just used the parts off it that I...

That looks like quite a job you had there.

    Bf 200

My 1999 130 has probably triggered the overheat alarm more than 20 times since I owned it, on my IR gun it triggered sometimes at 160f when flushing. It was usually a minor issue, the sensor is very sensitive to a tiny bit of dirt. I’ve started it cold in the bay, it can trigger an alarm after...

BF225 - Tips for removing propshaft holder?

I also use a block of hardwood on things like this on the area of the joint and tap it around the circumference, it can shock the locked joint and the wood won’t damage the metal.

BF225 - Tips for removing propshaft holder?

I have no idea if acetone will affect paint, when mixed with oil, I’ve only used it in unpainted situations. Msds on both acetone and aerokroil shows a lot of volatile chemicals. Try the acetone/oil as a last resort but I’m thinking if you are patient, it will come apart. The aluminum builds up...

BF225 - Tips for removing propshaft holder?

The old cars guys use a 50/50 mix of automatic transmission fluid and acetone to unstick seized pistons. Use the pink transmission fluid, say dextron, and soak the unit in a container for a couple of days. Use this and follow jgmo’s advice on tapping etc.

    Yumbo order- unbelievable FedEx shipping

I’m guessing anything with worldwide use, like 2 wheelers, is still in use in Asia and Africa from back in the 70’s. So lots of demand for parts for those. The pre say 1990/2000 stuff in everything used a lot more common parts for many years and many models. The odd part for my 1999 130 I can...

    Spam

More spam this morning. I’ve been getting spam since 1974- but then it was mail. I worked in a bank and was the person who opened the mail, I got The Nigerian Scam. It was in a plain white envelope, the address and the letter inside were all typed by hand on a typewriter. At this time we had no...

    Yumbo order- unbelievable FedEx shipping

Fast, I can wait weeks for amazon orders if it comes from the USA. I order car parts from Rock Auto in the USA, they arrive in about 1 week via FedEx or UPS which I consider excellent. I’ve had parts from Honda take 10 days when it comes from the USA to the local Honda shop. So 2 business days...

    Yumbo order- unbelievable FedEx shipping

Decided to try Yumbo for some Honda parts not easily available locally and to see how it worked. Their site is not very user friendly at all, you place the order and then it takes a while to get it confirmed they have the part and receive it from a supplier. You pay for the part on order, it’s...

The original Honda 90hp carberated - bogging down under accel

Could it be a fuel restriction at high rpm’s? Will the outboard reach max speed/rpm when slowly increasing throttle without a skier load? Have you found any dirt or debris in your filters? Are your fuel lines all newer?

I’m seeing lots of spam and seeing everyone on this forum is seeing it too and we have all reported it. Hopefully it gets cleared out, it’s also on the other forums, like Mercury, so I assume after the holidays it will be fixed. Hopefully.

Is there a way to completely bypass a honda 15 hp bystarter?

All those hours running I bet slows corrosion. Corrosion to me needs oxygen, not much oxygen and corrosion happens when running. No oil consumption and no valve adjustment, amazing. I am a big believer in synthetic oil and keeping things running at high rpm with good fuel. Keeps everything...
