    mercury xri 175 efi shuts off eratically

    I have a 93 mercury xri/efi 175hp outboard that wants to shut off eratically. Last time i had it out she shut down 3 times. Each time i was on plane and running around 3200 to 3500 rpm. It does not sputter, it shuts off. I then restart and it runs fine. What can be causing this issue...

    Timing, Mercury 175 EFI

    I am in the process of setting the timing on a Mercury 175 EFI. In the manual I have it says to set the static idle timing to what appears to be a range. 0 degrees to -9 degrees ATDC. I am using the cranking method of setting the timing. Can anyone tell me why the timing is listed in the set...
