    I just picked up a 2018 sun tracker 16 dlx fishing buggy with a 40 hp Bigfoot engine. The boat and engine has less then 50 hours on it. I'm getting around 16-18 mph according to gps. I know this pontoon ain't gonna win any races but Is there any modification that can be done to improve this...

    I put the boat on the river today. Long story short. I put in a new 140 degree thermostat, new circulation pump and new impeller. All quicksilver parts. After running about 2-3 miles on the river at WOT or close to it, my temp gauge got 160 degrees or just shy from it. My temperature reading...

    Yea I probably should have changed it. The top was a little melted. Hard to tell the last time it was changed

    Thank you. The impeller is all I needed. I may go with the other the next time to change the housing and carrier seal.

    Maybe I should have mentioned the water coming out of those 2 holes is cold water. Same temp as the garden hose. Not warm like exhaust water. But I'll take your word that it's normal. I'm hoping to drop it in the water soon to see how it does. Thank you for your reply

    My stern drive is alpha1 gen 2 serial number 0F333583. I used quicksilver 8M0100526 water pump kit. Should I have used 817275Q05 Water Pump Impeller Repair Kit instead? It could explain some of my issues if so. Thank you
