    6Gal Gas Tank Connector Problem

    I have a 6 gallon plastic OMC gas tank model P6A. The plug holding the spring and valve inside the connector pops out. With the springs pushing on the plug.....what holds the plug in place? The diagrams and part lists I have found do not show the details of this assembly....so I don't know...
