    Carb was fully cleaned, extensively and issue still there sadly. What can happen with a rubber drive hub? The prop spins free of the hub and then grips again and spins normally?

    Did you ever work out what your problem was? I also should have mentioned - when the noise kicks in, there's often huge power loss and on occasion the motor starts limping, power to low power, power to low power. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Awesome, thanks so much for the advice! Do you suspect it is some part of the recoil starter vibrating? Rather fortuitously just yesterday when I was out on the boat I went to a little secluded beach and found an emergency pull start cord floating in the water! It will definitely come in handy...

    Unfortunately it's a pull start only model without any kit (that I know of at least) to convert it to electric start. Is there some other way to remove the recoil starter once it's running?

    Hey All, Just looking for some advice on this weird noise I've been experiencing at WOT. Attached is a video of the noise (notice the weird change in volume/sound). I can't for the life of me work out what the noise is but it only occurs at WOT and when I back off the throttle it goes away...
