    The following pics are of the engine with the control pushed full forward. This pic shows the butterfly almost half open at full forward. I know it should go further open than this. The boat does not have a tach and it has good compression. This is a linkage issue or control issue.

    I recently got a new to me starcraft aluminium boat with a Johnson 40 model J40ECR. The problem is with the control pushed full forward I don't get WOT. It's more like just under half. I tried numerous times to adjust it at the motor but no luck. I am thinking it may be in the controls. Any help...
