    Did not have a service manual but problem is resolved. Saw a utube video where someone used a battery to connect the trim unit and operate the up function-worked great and pushed the free piston sub assembly right out. Thanks for the post!

    I am trying to replace seals/orings in my tilt unit-I see an oring called for on the free piston sub assembly but I can't figure out how to get that assembly out of the main housing-I have the tilt piston sub assembly out with no problems but these appear to be separate units. Thanks for any...
