    won't go 86-89 70 hp merc

    I have a 70 hp. Merc. it will start and idle fine and run up to top rpm the first time then when I throttle back and try to throttle up again it kills the engine and all I can get it to do is idle any attempt to throttle up will stop the engine. New plugs, new stator, compression is good...
