    Tilt trim relay bracket

    It still works just at times it doesn't. Seems as there is a loose wire causing it to arc and sometimes not work. Pop the engine cowl off and move it around and it works.

    I have noticed that my relays for tilt and trim have been arcing. Often the relays will stop working and just click. I can press on them and I have power again. I've noticed arcing so I suspect I have a wire touching. Not much slack to even pull it out and get a good look. I'm trying to...

    Just rebuilt carbs and still stalls in water going into gear. I'm going to need a compression tester now. Are the ones on Amazon or the ones at Harbor Freight ok?

    So I just noticed that my tilt-trim relays are arcing here and there.... They are pressed in as far as they will go. If I hold them in and hit the buttons then I don't get any arcing. Anyone ever had this happen?

    I suppose I'll go ahead and rebuild the carbs with a rebuild kit and see if that fixes or improves.

    It comes off the side not the top. It's just below the cowl.

    I'm referring to the remote control shifter at the helm the shifts the outboard into gear.

    I don't have a compression tester but the tell tale hose is on the starboard side of engine. The engine ran the boat with previous owner without stalling in gear. I just replaced the throttle controller and the idle isn't the same.

    Also if I lift up the fast idle lever to start engine and try to close lever, it doesn't close all the way and still idles way to high!
