Never trust when they say they changed something unless you can see it yourself or proof. I had trusted in my Merc 35 that they changed it. It peed fine in a bucket. Got it out in the water and the thing tore to pieces when I opened it up. The dude in fact did not change it for me. lol. There...
I think it was like a systematic failure. One thing going wrong after another from my incompetence just winging it.
When you did the impeller change. Did you happen to accidentally tug the drive shaft when reinstalling the lower unit. I did and the impeller key fell out. Luckily still in the...
I ended up having a weak coil. So I replaced both coils and had to retweak the carb from my meddling. Fired right up. But then I started having fuel issues with my gas tank but the tank was the last thing I did. And I changed all the fuel lines as well.
It has the original recommended prop. I made sure to get the specific oem pitch prop. It does seem to be timing or ignition related. Almost like it is running on one cylinder. It can idle just at 1/4throttle. I have a video of it running not sure how to get it on here. I took it out hoping it...
Hi so I recently went through a no spark issue. And now have regained spark after replacing the old trigger and stator. The trigger had bad wiring and the stator wasnt giving enough power on the meter.
Finally regained spark! But the top spark is perfect and really strong (I shocked myself)...
I wrapped the rope around and gave her a pull. No spark still. When I did have spark it was a little weak. Coils tested fine tho. Not great but fine lol
I feel pretty dumb. I was touching both leads to ground. Which would make the beep on the meter. I thought that meant a short. So now back to square one. I checked rectifier and it checks out fine. Going to replace it bc it looks a little rusted in the contacts. But still no spark. Trigger Ohms...
It’s an electric start. It has voltage on the grounds without touching the key at all. I’m going to be testing the rectifier tomorrow and seeing if it stops the short it’s the only thing I can think of that I touched when moving parts around to get to the carb
Serial Number is 6579354. If anyone has any idea where to start would be greatly appreciated. I did remove the CDI from the mounting bracket in order to get to the carburetor. I believe after that is when everything went wrong. I did put everything back where it was supposed to go.
I recently bought a used tracker with a 35hp Mercury with controls. I got it to run. It had been sitting for a year or so. Then it stalled. I noticed a lot of crud in the fuel filter so I replaced the filter and cleaned the carb. Thinking that would do it. All of a sudden now I have NO spark. I...
I did the impeller and a carb rebuild kit. Tested both cylinders and both were at 75 psi… I don’t know how accurate it is being from Amazon. Started it up for maybe a minute and it started smoking in the barrel heavily. No pee. Got it started once more but only for about 30 seconds then died...
the guy I bought it from replaced the water pump assembly. When I took it off it looked like it was crammed in there and was extremely difficult to get out. I ordered a new water pump assembly with overnight shipping. Along with a compression tester. I will post those values as soon as those...
Hi I recently bought a 83’ 15hp Evinrude that I knew needed a little work. Cleaned out the carb and ran great for about 4 hours of continuous use. Then I hit a patch of weeds and it stopped running for a little while. Was stranded on the lake for about an hour. Got her running and on the way...
