    Appears to be extra shift cable

    When my outdrive is trimmed up the shift cable appears to be fine; however, when I trim it down a "drip loop" for lack of better terms develops. The plastic jacket is not in a bind and pushes freely through the bellow into the engine compartment but redevelops once you take your hand off of it...
