Thanks, I have a spare one of those I could try. Does this just protect the switch box from excessive voltage of the higher Amp red stators?
Would this being faulty cause a miss-fire / poor running as seen in the clips attached?
Also could a faulty or non-compatible trigger cause this? - Hence...
Hi, hoping someone can assist me, I am diagnosing a loss of power and mid range miss fire.
The motor is used and I understand the previous owners mechanic changed the Stator (using a 75HP one), as he suspected a faulty stator might have been the issue. Challenge is, he may have fitted the...
**SOLVED**
Hi all, just to close this one off - it was a faulty switch box. Fitted a new ones and she's firing on all three cylinders, up and down the RPM range. Thanks for the help and support offered.
PS - tacho issue resolved, it was a break in the grey signal wire half way down the loom.
Just the miss-fire to resolve now, hopefully someone will be able to help :)
Thanks for the heads up, I'll get one of those on order.
Meanwhile, the other two pots (that are running fine) fire the spark tester 100% up and down the rpm cycle. The no2 pot that isn't running over 2,000 RPM doesn't spark above that, unlike 1 & 3.
Hi all, hoping you might be able to shine some light on a problem I have with my 1997 60HP Mariner / Mercury 2 Stoke please.
Al low RPM it runs great, but as you increase RPM past around 2,00RPM, the no2 cylinder stops sparking (tested with a spark tester) - if you drop back below 2,000 the...
