I want to add an oil pressure alarm sensor. Apparently the only way to do it is to somehow "T" it in where the sending unit for the gauge is mounted. Due to space constraints and access, It's gonna take 6 inches or so of brass fittings and tubing. Has anyone done this? Any other options...
318 LM. Can someone describe (again) the the process of drilling out the PCV vacuum port on the Edelbrock 1409? Also is the hose fitting then pressed in or is the port then tapped and a screw-in fitting installed?
Second question. The old Carter AFB (four bbl) used a gasket with four holes...
Raw water cooled 318LM has a cooling bypass in the thermostat housing. The 1970 TSB re-routed the bypass to the manifolds. So, how can the engine ever reach normal operating temp? Regardless of thermostat position (opened or closed) the water is being discharged overboard.
New longblock, intake and exhaust manifolds, new water pump (raw water cooled). Also new thermostat and housing. Problem is that it's running at about 130 degrees. Is it possible that the installer used a 140 deg thermostat? Why are there two different thermostats used on these engines? (140...
2006 75hp E-tec has always been rough between 1200-1800 RPM's. The dealer and another tecnician have told me that this is a normal part of the "fuel mapping" program. Does this sound right?
Found Water in my Paragon V-drive. Should be simple fix (gasket). Question is, can I disconnect the cooling water short term until part located? More importantly, what type fluid does the V-drive require?
Running at about mid throttle, my inexperienced first mate thought he saw a stickup and placed tranny in neutral. engine over revved, but then pannicked hands started flying and the throttle went to full, with the tranny in neutral. Throttle was then immediately chopped to idle. The engine...
My 318 LM is missing the timing index. How do I set the timing? I have been looking for the part, but no luck yet. There is a mark on the flywheel visible through a port in the bell housing. Also there is a stationary index attatched to the inside of the bell housing. What are these for?
