    shifter linkeage

    ive got this old merc, serial number 7044075 that i just bought, seems im having problems putting the lower end back in , the shifter seems to be missaligned , the shifter shaft goes into the spline ok, but there is a plastic rod connected to the tilt bracket thats giving me problems , not sure...
