    As I said before, this is not a new installation. This motor has been on this boat for over 15 years. It’s not going to magically change mounting height on the transom.

    I stated that I took the lower apart to check the clutch, I didn’t go any further. What else should I check that would be easy?

    I can spin the prop in gear and watch the flywheel move.

    I will also add that this happens in forward and reverse gear. Could the driveshaft be slipping on the pinion gear?

    Mounting height is good, not a new installation. It first happened out on the water cruising around and motor revved up and boat came off plane.

    I’ve got a Yamaha F115 with spun prop like symptoms. The engine will go into gear just fine and revs up fine but the boat doesn’t move like it should. Once you get over 3K rpm it just revs out to over 5k and no more acceleration. I’ve tried 2 props, marked the prop and hub to check for slipping...

    Honda alarm

    Thanks for the help. I don’t believe it is over heating. The alarm comes on as soon as you start the engine. Just bought the engine, when the owner ran the motor for me it was fine. Got it all hooked up on the boat and now it’s throwing the alarm. Maybe water in fuel but I unplugged the sensor...

    Honda alarm

    I’ve got a 2011 Honda 150hp with an alarm. Haven’t checked it out too much but the throttle position sensor is broken off and unplugged. Will this cause an alarm? Motor runs great otherwise. I don’t have the warning lights hooked up for check engine, oil, etc.
