    Help on a 1979 15hp evinrude that wont idle

    "I have replaced the CDI, spar "I have replaced the CDI, spark plugs and rebuilt carb. I can get motor running ,but idle at low speed. I notice some back firing or miss fire at times. Should i remove fly wheel and check for timing aliment? Looking for some ideals that would cause motor not...

    Evinrude 15hp 1979

    "Have 15hp evinrude 1979. Rep "Have 15hp evinrude 1979. Replaced power pack and plugs. Motor will start now , but wont idle at low idle. There is some backfiring at times. I also tried ajusting slow idle knob. I notice a lot of rust in cyclinder. Old plugs where pretty rusted."
