    Revese grinding

    I have a 1998 40 hp elpto tracker force by mercury ser#oe331450 i put a new impeller lower gear oil and just a general tune-up.The boat ran fine every time i took it out let my nephew use the boat big mistake. He came back with boat and said i think you need to adjust something. A month later...

    Need to know where i went wrong

    First off I'm new to outboards but thinking replacing an impeller in a 98 40 hp mercury force motor would be easy and it was came apart easy went back together easy but i spin the prop and it now makes a clicking sound and put shifter inn fwd reverse and all the same sounds but no neutral...
