    i’m trying to install a lower unit in a 1969 evinrude triumph 55hp with the hydro shift and for whatever reason I can’t get the lower unit shaft to slide in nicely all the way enough for me to get the bolts in. Can anyone offer some help?

    when I get home I will give ya the model # - i’m in massachusetts and the issue is I hit a rock and it put a hole in the lower unit right where the gears for the shifting is and it doesn’t shift anymore.

    I am looking for a new lower unit for my 55hp triumph push button shift and I am curious what year lower units will work. I have found a few, one being a 1968-1971 it would be a huge help if someone could let me know as I am lost with this stuff.
