    Cooling issue SBC FWC VP 280

    So, I took care of my coolant leaks, new engine. Ran the engine for 25 minutes, never came up to temp. My infra red gauge showed 111degrees at thermostat housing, all parts of engine were no higher than 100 degrees. Exhaust elbows were at 95 degrees. Exhaust hoses were running hot, 200 degrees...

    Coolant leak in new engine 5.7 sbc

    My coolant is leaking out a hole in the bottom of the engine. it doesn't make sense to me. Does anyone know what this hole is and how I can plug it up. Pic is from old block but I circled the hole.

    Looking to add power steering

    Hey y'all, I'm wanting to add power steering to my 1985 Bayliner Ciera 2750. Has a GM 5.7 vortec with a VP280 behind it. Does any one know which actuator I would need, part #? Which bracket if any? Can I use a GM PS pump? Pretty sure besides the hoses and maybe a cooler, that's all I will need...

    Trying to find out about my outdrive. where can I put the serial numbers in to find out what I have? Was on a site that only does 1991 and newer. Mine is 1985.

    Think I could fix the piston with JB weld too??? I'd have to get the pieces of the valve seat off it first of course.;)

    What is the possibility that this head is usable if I replace that valve seat??? ETA At least now I know what happened... There were pieces of that seat in the intake also.

    Well, need to replace my 5.7. I have a question about pulling the old one. Is it only the 6 bolts holding the engine to the Flywheel housing? Will the engine lift straight up or does it need to go forward first? Will there need to be any aligning done when new engine goes in. Also, I want to...

    What size bolts?

    Replacing the manifolds on my 5.7. I want to use new bolts. I know they are grade 5, 5"... But... 3/8, 1/2?... thread? Can anyone help? I could buy the mounting kit which includes them, but I already have the gaskets.<br><br>Thanks in advance.

    Let me start out by saying I have always run Mercruisers. Just bought a Bayliner Ciera 2750, Crusader 5.7 with an AQ280 outdrive. Engine is running great. But when I run her and put in reverse, the outdrive "whines" a little bit, doesn't really get louder if i give some throttle but I don't hear...
