    1999 Johnson on a 1990 stratos 201

    6” manual highjacker plate. Ran fine when I 1st had motor put on 1st through 3rd trip out. I changed the tach and put a 26 pitch prop on it. Only 2 things I changed after 3rd trip out. That when motor started acting like it didn’t want to go and then would run normal and then rough idle.

    I’ll have to go back and look. I seen on a forum some had stated the striped wires were the middle two cylinders but maybe I’m wrong as to where my wires are located

    They are all solid orange, except for 3 & 4 middle coils have blue strip if I remeber correctly

    Compression on all cylinders is 90 psi. Wires are correct on coils. Spark seems to be correct.

    So I have been racking my brain with this motor. It has new stator, power pack, regulator, coil packs, spark plugs and wires. New rebuilt carbs with new bowls. It still will only run 7.5-8 mph on the water. How likely is it that my lower unit is bad? Would it cause this condition? It runs great...

    1999 johnson seahorse prop pitch

    I am about to purchase a 1999 johnson seahorse for my 1990 stratos 201 PRO DC.my current motor has a 14-1/2 x 24 pitch prop. The new engine has a 25 pitch prop that will not come with it. What am I going to gain or lose with my 24 pitch raker prop?
