    the rod is connected but on the remote when I shift to forward and then reverse it works both ways but back into forward it will not go into reverse. took apart the remote and the 2 tooth cams inside are skipping. put it back together with them meshed it works again it's like it is going to far...

    First time replacing water pump and removing lower unit. Reinstalled lower unit, would only shift forward, now will not shift either direction.
