    I found the serial # tag but I can't read any # at all on the tag. There is a # that I can see when I tilt the motor all the way up 3408-818904-C1 I don't think it is the serial # but this is the only # on the engine. The one on the serial # tag is gone.( I wish it was stamped on the tag...

    I just got a boat that has been sitting for 10 years with a 115 Mariner on it. I disconnected the fuel line and put a hot battery on it sprayed gas into all four carbs and it didn't start. I pulled off each spark plug wire and used a screw driver from spark plug boot to ground to check for spark...
