    I have the 1977 4 HP twin. S/N 9320599. Made in Belgium. Mine is stuck in gear. I took the lower assembly all apart and I think it has something to do with the gear rod at the bottom. I wish I could find parts for this. If anyone could help, that would be great

    My serial number is 9320599. 1977 Mercury 4 HP, twin. Made in Belgium. I can find parts. Mine is stuck in gear. Motor runs like a clock though. Please help!

    I have the same issue. From what I've heard, it's the gear rod. Some spring release at the bottom that's either missing or broken. I took mine all apart and can't fix it. Parts are very hard to find as well. I'm hoping someone can help!

    Motor is stuck in gear. I took the lower end apart and its still stuck. The shift rod goes up and down as it should. I stuck my homemade one down the hole but can't seem to get it in neutral. At the bottom where that rod connects to the prop gears, I can't even get at it or disamble it. It's...
