    suzuki dt65 gear shaft

    I took off the lower unit of my suzuki dt65 (1985 I think), and once I was trying to put it back, the gear rod sticks up to high and the shaft to which it attaches to in the outboard doesn't reach it, and if it does, it's impossible to change gear.
