    Replacing the gasket on the exhaust manifold. Is a sealant needed for this particular motor? Thanks

    Hoping for some boat guys input if possible. Took the lower unit off of my 1980 Mercury outboard to replace the impeller. This is what I found. Does anyone know what this plastic pc that melted is called and possibly somewhere I could find one? Appreciate any help or direction.

    I've got a 1980 70 hp 3cyl OB Merc and I've never had any issues with it. Just got it ready for summer fishing n it ran great in my yard with the muffs on. No issues at all. I got her out on the lake n up to about 30 mph and she bogged out on me. Could not get it to restart. It's firing but...
