    Took our boat out today and the RPMs would not go above 3000. Ignition coils and plug wires checked out OK. all cylinder seem to be firing properly. Could this be a power pack issue?

    Tachometer not getting signial.

    My tachometer is not receiving a signal from the engine. Where on the engine would the sending wire hook up to? I have a 1990 Johnson 70 hp VJ70TLESB Outboard Motor Thanks
