Friend of mine recently purchased a pair of subject engines.
The boat is equipped with the I-Command gauges.
My older FICHT engine have gauges w/ "idiot" lights that turn on 1 at a timel when your turn on 1 then shut off and the horn beeps.
His does nothing when the key is turned on.
Does not...
Does anyone know what the Pulse Width and Duty Cycle is for the Fuel Injectors on a E175MFXSOS (2005, 175HP).
I have come-up with set-up to test the injectors but need to know the operating parameters.
Would like to know the info for an angine at idle and maybe 4K-5K RPM.
Thanks,
Tony
Noticed this Fault 38 came up in my Stb engine 1 time in the Last hour of running it. Probably during initial start up for the year. No lights or alarms. Anything to be concerned about?
Looking to launch today.
Started my '05 175 Fichts today.
Starboard engine started fine, port engine not so much....
Both engines went through the initial check normally.
Starboard engine started and ran normally.
Port engine started easily and immediately displayed a Check Engine Kight w/a 10 second alarm.
I connected...
OK, continued progress! Swapped lower stub and installed in the lower w/ gear and pinion nut.
Question/opinion: do you think it's necessary to replace the prop shaft seals on the bearing carrier?
Forward gear assembly does not look too easy to remove in order to replace the seals.
Lower unit was...
I got the other DS out w/o a problem.
Below is a pic of the 2 DS's, you can see the difference in length.
I also checked the markings on the pinion gears, same P/N....I should be good to go!
Need to order a seal Kit, pinion nut and washer before I go any further.
I was able to remove the bearing carrier and prop shaft using make-shift puller.
Decided it was a good place to stop, will continue with drive shaft removal tomorrow.
NOTE: the drive shaft on the "donor" lower did not come out without a fight, hoping this one is easier.
Gears look good on this...
Just re-read your post, if I understand correctly, you're stating that the Prop Shaft and Gear are removed easily, but I still need to remove the pinion gear from the driveshaft. Correct?
No, I did not remove the driveshaft from the LH lower yet.
Are you saying I don't need to remove the bearing carrier on this lower to remove the driveshaft and pinion gear?
If I remove the bearing housing under the water pump I can remove the driveshaft and pinion gear?
Anyone know the thread size at the end of the prop shaft on a '03 225HP LH lower unit?
Need to screw an eye in to get a slide hammer on it for removal.
