2015 Mercury 150 HP 6 second alarm

Whenever I go out recently, after running for 5 to 10 minutes at moderate RPMs (<4000), I'll get a 6 second alarm. When the alarm goes off, the engine continues to run normally. No change in operation or performance. This generally happens only one time in an outing. I could run for hours after this without another alarm.

However, intermittently and not associated with the alarm, RPMs may drop by 200-400 for a few seconds and then return to normal. This may occur 2 to 3 times in an hour of running. Happens at high or low RPMs.

I just did a complete service - plugs, upper and lower oil, filters and impeller. Symptoms have not changed.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Smartcraft worked perfectly. It identified a problem with the Idle Air Control Valve.

It had a significant amount of dust in it and the plunger was sticky. You could move it but it stayed wherever you stopped. I blew it out and cleaned it with brake cleaner and now the engine worked perfectly!

Thanks for the suggestion.
