1983 Johnson carburetor adjustment

hello.... Im new here.... I am trying to find where does one adjust the carburetor on a 1983 Johnson 50hp .... we just bought the boat

hello..... it will not stay idling. it will not stay running unless I put it in gear.... even when I put it at full throttle I only go about 7mph ..... the seller told us that he rebuilt the carburetor but only adjusted it in his driveway...... so we would like to know how can we adjust it
 
Step #1 is to do a compression test .----Post the actual values.----Should be 140+ PSI.-----Does spark jump a gap of at least 3/8" on a test device ?----Sounds like it might be running on 1 cylinder .------There are no magic carburetor adjustments !

booooo for not having a magic button to fix ...... ok, thank you for the information.... my husband is looking now at the spark plugs, the we are off to go buy a compression tester ....... how will I find you again tomorrow .................... by the way, THANK YOU for your help..... very much appreciated

hello again.... test values both read 110 .... we are doing this in our backyard, so engine is cold (we havent ran it since yesterday) ..... as for the spark jump gap, we dont know how to check that

we just watched a video on how to check for the spark... we will check tomorrow morning and get back to you
