Hello,
I have a 1988 70hp ELPT Mercury outboard and I have two engine issues, I am the second owner and have had it for a few months.
1. Engine seems to idle high. When I'm trying to go slow 'trolling' the slowest my Humminbird Helix shows me is 4.4mph. Do I just adjust the idle screw until it idles better/slower?
2. Maybe the two are related but it also seems to shift hard, if these are not related, how can I adjust the shifting? (another note, I have to put my throttle lever down quite a bit to move and it gets stiffer the farther down I go)
