valve guide crack - gm120 i4- repair options?

This came off a motor im working on, PO left it in rain and broke a valve off in the guide.

Any tips to try get it out and what repair options? it seems the boss is integrated? or is this a press in type guide - hard to tell.



Was thinking maybe baking head to 400 degrees hoping the cast iron will expand more than the valve - as for crack, weld and cut down the comp tool?

A manual certainly wont tell you anything about valve guide repair.. and if so it might not be relevant if anything was changed before. Not to mention the manuals are usually 30 yrs old - and technologies have certainly changed / improved.

I would cut my losses now, and replace the cylinder head.
You will be time and money ahead.

found a used 140 for 300 .. picked it up today. Might experiment on this head with valve tools later on..
