I have a 1987 Evinrude 48 special on a 24 ft pontoon. I was cruising along yesterday with no problems and the motor bogged down and stalled. I took it out of gear and restarted the motor and it seemed to rev ok. As soon as I put it into gear the motor bogged down and keeping it at full throttle was able to limp back to shore with very little rpms. When I got back to shore I raised the motor and turned pop in neutral. It turned easily and had nothing binding up the prop. Does it sound like an ignition issue such as a coil? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks
