Hi all,
I am having heat issues with my 81 Volvo Penta. It's a 4 cylinder AQ145. If I go above 1800 RPM's, the heat starts to rise greatly. It stays around 180 degrees. Once I go over 1800 RPM's, it starts to heat up way and will even go to 220.
I would like to add an extra heat exchanger in series to add additional cooling to the motor to prevent from overheating. Has anyone done this and/or have any recommendations/suggestions on what I should do? I have attached two photos to help picture my theory on what I plan to do
Here is my current understanding in a simplified drawing of how the raw water cooling system works.
Here is my intended plan for adding an additional exchanger in series to the current one
