Should my 32 year old Mariner 50 have an air cleaner?

When I prime the motor to start it , a stream of fuel shoots out of the carb and collects in the case. Just didn't think that was the way it was designed.

If a " stream " of fuel shoots out of the carburetor when operating the primer bulb , then you need to address that as it is not normal.

No air cleaner or spark arrestor. Time to pull the carbs for the fuel stream.
