Hey! I am trying to determine the year of my Mariner 4.0 HP outboard two-stroke motor to figure out if I can still use it in my city (they recently changed the laws to prohibit two-stroke motors from before 2007 or motors that are not built according to the European 2003/44/EC norm).
I tried to find the serial number but most of it seems to have faded away. Does anybody have any clue as to the build year of this motor?
