Yamaha T50 stalling on acceleration from idle

Yamaha 2004 T50 (four carbs) stalls on modest acceleration from idle, otherwise starts, idles, runs well - both low and high rpms

already checked/done: fuel & filter clean, no water; plugs new; accelerator pump OK , carbs rebuilt and synchronized (this problem remains before
and after rebuild and synchronizing)

possible fixes: install larges pilot & main jets - any guess on sizes? (Yamaha told me that the carbs are Keihin brand)
stock main jets: #1 - 124, #2 - 126, #3 - 116, #4 - 114 pilot jet 35,39 (engine jets undersized to meet EPA emissions at that time?)

drill out pilot screw brass plug to enrich (not sure this would work)

adjust accelerator rod - if possible? - so accelerator diaphragm engages at much lower rpms - service manual claims correct rpm is 2700, which seems
way too high for enrichment to occur - not the case with automotive carbs as this is almost instant with them on acceleration

all idea/fixes welcome
