Yamaha OX66 250 1997 CDI issue?

Recently had a failed high pressure pump in the VST. Replaced the failed pump with a new pump only to find upon install that it had a locked rotor and blew the main fuse when I attempted to start the engine. On to second new pump - replaced along with the blown fuse. Pump now good, fuse now good but engine cranks no start. Checked the fuel pump relay - tests OK. Checked for power to pump - has 12.6 volts when I create ground.

Appears CDI is not switching ground side of the circuit.

Is it possible that the locked rotor on the high pressure fuel pump that initially blew main fuse also damaged the CDI?
