Yamaha after market outboard thermostats

Has anyone tried any of the Yamaha after market thermostats? I have a F250 and the ones on EBay are $11 vs $34 ???

I ordered one off Amazon and my mechanic advised against using it.
He talked me into the OEM Yamaha part at about 3 times the price
