I have a Yamaha 6SG-6H6-S motor which will not idle. Its compression is an even 125 psi; the reeds look fine with no cracks, openings, etc. I have replaced the carburetor with a new one and it does exactly the same thing. It will start up with choke on startup speed and will shut down after 15 seconds running. It will however immediately start again by using the choke. In order to keep it running, I have to push down on the carburetor throttle bracket and the it will continue to run.
