Yamaha 13.5hp and 15hp difference

Could someone help me with the difference between the 13.5 hp and the 15 hp 2-stroke Yamaha outboard motor? I tried to compare several parts according to the factory numbers, but I couldn't find any difference. The carburettor also has the same part number.

What two stroke model are you getting the carburetor number from?
The strange thing is that the letter "R" represents the year 2002, but I could only find an exploded view of a 4-stroke in this ebony. From 2003, I found only 2-stroke types. From this year, the carburetor number is completely the same for both the 13.5 model and the 15 model.
The carburetor number: 63V-14301-02-00.

What does this mean?

63V-14301-00-00 was superceded by 63V-14301-01-00 which was superceded by 63V-14301-02-00.

Used on a number of US 9.9 and 15 HP two strokes. Used on 13.5 two strokes in other parts of the world.

The difference between the 9.9MSHZ and the 15MSHZ is the reed valve assembly. One might presume that the difference between the 13.5 and the 15 is also the reed valve assembly.

Where in the world are you? Any Yamaha US dealer can get the part for you.
I live in Europe, Hungary. There is a big (relative) Yamaha dealer, I'm going to ask order about 63W.... reed valve.
I have one more question, if it possible🙂. Please tell me exactly: what the ideal ratio by fuel/oil for this model? 1:100 or 1:75 or 1:50? With 1:50 ratio stronger smoking! (13.5hp, 2002 year, two stroke)

I don't have any data with respect to a Yamaha 13.5 HP two stroke. What I can tell you is that the oil ratio for the 2002 Yamaha 9.9 HP two stroke and the 15 HP two stroke is 100:1. I cannot believe that the 13.5 HP two stroke would be any different.

Use of a high oil to gasoline mix might result in excessive smoking, carbon build up, harder to start, not to mention the wasting of oil.

Thanks for the reply! So you can use it safely, the engine will not suffer from the 100 mixture. I thought 1:75, that's a middle ground. I'm sure that the 13.5 also has a specification of 100.

It is not what I think. It is what Yamaha thinks.

Folks tend to believe that if 100:1 is good then 50:1 must be better.

I say that if 50:1 is better than 100:1 then it stands to reason that 25:1 must be better than 50:1. And that 12.5:1 must be better than 25:1.
