1971 9.8 trying to get her tuned up. Was wondering what is the max rpm for this engine also need the same info for a1963 6hp. Thanks

Another question I have a 12v timing light for a car can I use this same one for these small outboards?

1971 - 4500-5500 rpm; 1963 5600 rpm. I think that you can use that timing light if it uses a magnetic pickup that you clamp on a spark wire and hooks up to a 12v battery.
