I am rebuilding a 13' RIB from scratch. All new electrical included. With that, I have #4 AWG wiring to a 60 amp main fuse that feeds the motor starter. Motor is a model year 2000 Johnson, 60 HP, 2 stroke. I blew the fuse early on when first spinning the motor over for testing. Then I put an amp clamp on the cable and was surprised to see about 120 amps during starting. Did I miss the target by that much? What should this motor's starter draw? I want to get good info before moving forward since I will need to likely run new wiring and new fuses for what I will assume will be a much higher current draw.
