I have a Bravo 1 drive, boat is hauled and I want to run the engine in a fresh ater wash using Saltawy to clean the inside of the engine. I have a small barrle I'm trying to get the lower end of the outdrive into but the prop is in the way. Can I remove the prop and lower the greased shaft into the fresh water tank and then run the engine ? I wasn't sure if this was ok to do with the prop off exposing parts which should not get wet ?

Ayuh,... Removing the prop ain't a problem,But, runnin' in a bucket Is...
Get a set of flush Muffs,+ do it right....

As long as your water pick ups are below the surface of the water it shouldn't be a problem. BUT you have to keep filling up your bucket because the exhaust will throw water everywhere but back into the bucket. I have used saltaway before but I don't like to uinless I can trap it and dispose of it properly. It's nasty stuff hwne it hits the ground. With a Mercruiser it's pretty much impossible to cool it on land without making a mess.
