will using 89 octain fule damage an older outboard

I'v heard that ethanal fule is bad for an outboard engine but the only nonethanal fule i can find in town is 89 octain will this damage my 1965 9.5

The motor can not be damaged by 89 octane fuel.------Mix at 50:1 with a good TCW 3 oil.
