Where to tap for a tell tale

Motor is a 1975 OMC 70hp 3 cylinder. I want to tap it for a tell tale. Is the marked(blue tape) spot the right location? Or is there a better one?

why? will only reduce pressure and tell you pump is working, but not what temp the cylinder head is at. just another thing to clog, too. buy an exhaust cover from 1978 or newer. dont drill on top like that on a 49ci.
 
Well, the why would be because I'll be playing around with different motor heights and I need it to run a pressure gauge. Thanks for your input.
 
yes. a pressure gauge is the way to go. i thought you were saying you were using the indicator to tell if the motor was cooling properly or not. means nothing in that case.
