My boat has a 2005 VolvoPenta
My boat has a 2005 VolvoPenta 5.0 OSI-XPD (60hours) was worked on by a local Volvo Penta dealer. I asked them to perform annual maintenace in accordance with the service manual. The mechanic said they found the empeller missing several coggs so they had to remove the T STAT Housing(?)to look for them. When I took the boat out the next day the engine overheated to about 200degrees. I am now trying to get the mechanic back to see what happened. What if any recourse do I have to make sure the volvo penta dealer does the right thing? What would you do? Is it also standard practice to lump all the labor costs together? Mine was not itemized but simply said +5 hours $450.
