i have an older 21ft cuddy cab with a 60 hp chrysler ob what size engine should really be this size boat and how fast do you think the 60hp will go thanks eric

" 60HP sounds really small. I guess by older you mean in the days before capacity plates. How much does the boat weigh? My grandfather had an old crutchfield that did great with a 110 Johnson SPL. I would not power with less than 90HP, but I don't know much about bigger boats. Hopefully someone can help you. "

My .02 is better to overpower than underpower, my 21 ft is aluminum (lighter) and it's powered by a merc 115, gets a little under 40 MPH on flat water; had an 85 HP before and went 32. Most newer boats in that range come w/ 115-175.
